Kees van Weijen

Kees van Weijen has been working in the entertainment industry in the Netherlands, Belgium and Great Britain since 1974. He is a self-made man, a team player with managerial talents. He enjoys working with people and bearing reüpsponsibility for content specific processes where the artists are number 1.

Kees has worked as Executive Vice President at Universal Music and as Managing Director at Mercury Records, MCA and Polydor with artists such as INXS, Status Quo, Kiss, Elton John, Dire Straits, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, U2, Mary J. Blidge, Lionel Ritchie, Jamie Lidell and many others. He also ran [PIAS] Rough Trade Distribution as managing partner until January 2017. Dutch IFPI awarded him in 2011 with “Zilveren Fonograaf “ for outstanding contribution in the music industry. In 2013, Kees was elected Chairman of the IMPALA board and became IMPALA’s president in 2017.
